G-Skeiiya-Young Gryph 1 by IchikoWindGryphon G-Skeiiya-Young Gryph 1 by IchikoWindGryphon
FFFFFF, this took me long enough! Spent a good couple solid days working on this and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.

Granted, that water sucks, but this is my first time actually trying to draw and color water. Anyway.

First challenge for :iconwindsonde: And of course Skeiiya wasn't always grown up, she was once a tiny little ball of fluff as seen here. As I progress with the challenges we'll get to see older and older versions of her, but for the first challenge I decided to draw her about the age of about a five year old human toddler.

Ahh, the forests of Twistoult are so relaxing! So relaxing that you seem to have wandered off the path. What do you find?

Story time!

---
Skeiiya had always dreamed of going to the forests. Her home in Grandesque was almost nothing but arid deserts and hardly anything to call a forest. But her mother took her on a small trip to Twistoult; she wanted to see an old friend from their allied clan. Skeiiya was filled with excitement as they neared their destination. Trees loomed like giants before them, and Skeiiya could hardly keep herself from gaping in awe. Her mother saw her expression and chuckled quietly.
"You can go explore if you want. Don't venture too far, though."
Skeiiya eagerly sprinted off into the woods, jumping swiftly over any fallen logs and dashing madly around the trees. She kept close to her mother, though. Her mother simply smiled.
Seeing a flash of brilliant yellow, Skeiiya immediately took off after it. Upon catching up to it, Skeiiya saw that it was abeautiful butterfly with a fiery display. Skeiiya giggled and swatted at it with her tiny paw. It fluttered just out of her reach.
Skeiiya continued to chase the butterfly deeper into the forest, and came upon a magnificent clearing with a waterfall running down the face of a small cliff. A lake filled up in front of the cliff and shimmered like saphires in the sun. Skeiiya paused and admired the scenery. She had never seen anything so beautiful.
A crunching in the woods behind her caught her attention. she twisted around, but not quick enough. A pair of jaws grasped her gently by the neck and hoisted her into the air.
"Mommy!" the little gryphon squealed happily.
Her mother carefully placed Skeiiya on her back. "What did I say about running off?" sje asked sternly. But she was smiling.
"Sorry," Skeiiya said, still giggling. As they set off, the butterfly once again circled around her head before vanishing into the forests.

Yeah, story's not the best, but it's ok.

The waters not that bad. It's look quite good to me. Is it the background that took the longest to do?

Actually it's the conceptual part that took me the longest :D

I must have gone through at least five different f*cking versions of this piece before finally scrapping them altogether and started with a new idea entirely
